Main task:Ideas

My main Idea for this task would be to do a Sci-fi film because I like these kind of films and they are very good in terms of their film opening and I want to make mine good but also different and enhancing for the audience. I knew this would be quite tricky to achieve but I was up for the challenge and looking forward to it all the while.

After looking into the genre I found that normally the main creature is abnormally human so I decided to base my ideas around it. I decided that I would be able to film it in a nearby set of woods not far away from where I lived, but main problem was what my film was going to be about. Then I came up with a good solution on how potentially I could do it. I decided to design a creature of my own to try and get me a good understanding on how I can base the intro to my film opening. My plan was to draw the creature fully and then add the parts of the creature that may be shown in the opening in small chucks which is a common theme in my selected film genre. I will revert in more detail about my creature designing later.

At first I really struggled with what I wanted to do with my intro and how I could theme it around my creature as I often thought they were to complex and alien. Then, with the inspiration with one of my friends, I thought of a very good idea of how I could base my film. I decided instead of having a more alien based creature I would make more humanoid which would be easier to do than making lots of makeup for the person who has to wear a costume that may not look even realistic and my cause my film to look cheap and unprofessional. I also decided were I could film the scenes and what the basic story line of what my intro was going to include. This breakthrough soon allowed me to flood myself with potential ideas of how I can film my intro and make it look brilliant.

After finding this brilliant idea for my film plot I then decided to design my monster to help me get further ideas on what my story would be. I soon decided from my designed monster that the basic outline of film would be a person who suffered an unknown accident and was suffering from acute radiation sickness. Some scientists decided to test the subject to see of they could be able to regrow his limbs back. Eventually they succeeded but they didn't know that the radiation infected the patients brain, and caused him to behave like a wild reckless animal. The subject escapes from the lab, where my intro starts, they eventually believe they found it in a wood. They start searching before one  scientist gets taken whilst the other carries on looking before he gets taken by the creature and the titles roll on screen.





With that I decided to design my creature ready for what it would look like in my intro. I also managed to think of basic ideas for my storyboard for the intro and what I could put onto it when I did the final version ready for filming. So with all of these ideas in place I was now able to start the design of my creature for my film and what parts would be shown on it.
